In the coming weeks, Apple will be introducing a new 3G-capable iPhone while RIM just announced the new 3G Blackberry Bold.
Time for a new cell phone!

I myself use a Treo Windows Mobile phone on the Verizon network. So I get a fast 3G network (3G being short for third generation which basically means a fast, DSL-speed wireless connection), but a less-than-ideal software interface. I like Windows Mobile ok, but it's less than cutting edge these days.
But the combination of a 3G network and smartphone makes for a very useful business tool.
Enter Apple with the iPhone and RIM with the new Bold, which aims to compete directly with the iPhone. Each phone will soon work on a 3G wireless network, the iPhone on AT&T and the Bold on Verizon.

Equipped with support for tri-band HSDPA and quad-band EDGE (which means that it will support the highest-speed GSM-family data networks wherever they are available worldwide), 802.11a/b/g Wi-Fi, stereo Bluetooth, and both assisted and autonomous GPS, the Bold could prove a formidable challenger to Apple's next-gen iPhone on connectivity alone.
It even looks a bit iPhone-esque, with its glassy display area, generally flat profile, and rounded corners. Still, the Bold comes configured with a hardware QWERTY keyboard, and it retains the general dimensions of its predecessors, so it's much shorter and somewhat thicker than the iPhone.
That's a lot of acronyms, but in short small business users are about to get much better phones on much faster networks.
