Other Areas You Can Save

14. Embrace Membership Rewards. Whether on your company credit cards or through stores such as Best Buy or Staples, make your corporate purchases with the comforting knowledge that you will be receiving some of that money back.

15. When using your company credit card, be careful. Try to only use credit cards that donít have annual fees and have low interest rates. Whenever possible, pay down the balance so that you arenít paying unnecessary fees. Never go over your credit limit and always pay on time to eliminate additional fees as well as damage to your credit rating.

16. Investigate the possibility of paying your bills on line. You can keep track of payments while also paying them closer to their due date, keeping the money in your own account as long as possible.

17. Advertise your new product by donating it to a charity or local television or radio show. Your product will get substantial attention with little to no cost to your business.

18. Business cards and simple brochures can be made in office. Reduce the number of out of date business cards cluttering your storage cabinet and make them on a need basis, decreasing printing costs as well as unprofessional cross outs for new numbers or titles.

19. Go Green. Talk with your local energy company and get a free energy audit. You can receive sizeable rebates for energy efficient upgrades while also saving you on future energy costs.

20. Use on line services. There are a variety of free services that can save you considerable money including www.TheLaw.comwhich offers free legal assistance to small businesses, www.wix.com where you can create your own free website, and www.techguy.org which offers no cost tech support.

By reevaluating the way you do business, you can find a variety of areas that you can save some money. Always discuss your ideas with your managers and employees before implementing any major changes to prevent bad feedback or unnecessary expenses for items or services that wonít be used. By working together, you and your staff can find different ways to get through these harsh economic times and sail into a successful future together.
