The first step in a Little League’s email marketing campaign is easy enough: Getting all the email addresses of parents and coaches. It won’t take long to realize how valuable it is being able to get in touch with everyone with one simple message. A couple decades ago, league administrators had to make multiple phone calls in order to coordinate tryouts, plan out schedules or reschedule games lost due to bad weather. Now, though, everyone can be informed and begin discussing the issues at the same time.

Email marketing for Little League can also serve to recruit players, coaches and administrators for future seasons. These messages can include the vitals, such as contact information for league officials and details on how to sign up, as well as pictures of kids enjoying league play and even a video from the championship series and/or awards presentation.

If a league has a website, the email marketing for Little League program should also be “synched” with it. Parents today are more likely to find out about the local Little League via a web search rather than by reading the sports section of the daily newspaper. Make sure to include a prompt on the website reminding parents that email is the best way to receive updates on the league and invite them to submit their email addresses.

Don’t continue to rely on the old way of doing things—email marketing software is an essential component for anyone involved in Little League. Email marketing for Little League teams will allow those in charge to concentrate more on what really matters—putting together an unforgettable experience for the young players and cheering them on once they take the field!
