While the weather may turn crisper come fall, this time of year is always a good one for sporting goods stores. With the National Football League season starting up, and the National Basketball Association and college basketball teams getting ready to tip off practice, people are more likely to get the itch to return to the gridiron or the court themselves.

That, of course, means they’ll be heading to sporting goods stores to pick up footballs, basketballs and the other equipment they need! Chances are pretty good, too, that most of these weekend warriors will call it a day quickly, but sporting goods stores that invest in email marketing software can go a long way towards keeping their businesses moving forward! Here are four reasons why, for sporting goods stores, an email marketing campaign is a good idea:

1.) A sporting goods store’s email marketing plan offers unmatched interactivity!
People want to see the products they buy in action, even if the “action” is as simple as watching complete strangers shooting baskets or throwing a football back and forth. There was no way to do this with old-fashioned advertising and marketing such as newspapers, and most sporting goods stores can’t afford to buy advertising time on television. But email marketing software makes it very simple to embed video that can be viewed right in the body of a message. Along with footage of people enjoying the supplies they’ve purchased at the store, intersperse clips of employees at work and customers providing testimonials in order to give potential customers an idea of the type of experience they’ll enjoy.
