8. Improve your warranty.
There was a publisher of mail order how-to books who wanted to increase his business. The best thing he tried was to extend the terms of his warranty or return policy from 30 days to a full year! Results? A significant DROP in the rate of returns. Why? a) more perceived value on the part of the customer; b) people had more time to get comfortable with their purchases; and c) yes, of course, they forgot. But at least they were given an extended opportunity.
9. Be nice today.
Take 15 minutes a day for the next week and write your good customers AND suppliers a thank you note. A card, not a long business letter. A handwritten note. I have seen this technique work WONDERS.
10. Here's a variation on the above.
Write the same kind of a note to a fellow employee. THEN instead of mailing it or delivering it, POST it on a company bulletin board. Bingo, everybody wins.
