A survey from the Yankee Group
reveals significant technical fears and concerns among small companies. The study shows that more than 50 percent of companies with 20 to 99 employees cite the integration of standalone applications and systems as their biggest technical challenge. More than 40 percent of companies fear that their technical needs are not being fulfilled because they lack sufficient information technology staff. Companies of this size spend about $70,000 per year on IT, while companies with two to 19 employees spend about $16,000 annually on tech.
