says that three companies dominate opt-in commercial email. Twenty-six percent of online Americans receive these emails via Yahoo!, 21 percent via Hotmail and 13 percent via AOL. The release says that 8 percent opt-in on their work email accounts, a percentage that is shrinking. Thirty percent of Americans have one email account, 37 percent have two, 19 percent have three and 13 percent have four or more. The growth of multiple accounts and residential broadband may be the reason fewer people opt-in at work, the company says.
