The latest WYSIWYG design tool that caught our eye launched this week. It's called Sprout, and it does a neat trick: it makes building a Flash widget as easy as logging into a Web site.
Sprout launched at this week's Demo Conference to rave reviews. Says Read/Write Web:
SproutBuilder is going to explode the world of widgets on the web. This is far and away my favorite product I've seen at DEMO, not just this year but ever in the three years I've attended.
So what is this thing and how does it work?
In short, Sprout is a browser-based, WYSIWYG editor for Flash. It sports an interface similar to Photoshop or other design tools. Users can work with Sprout it to create Flash widgets, websites and mashups by themselves, without the help of a designer or scripter. The tool features pre-packaged components that delivery popular Flash widget functionality, such as creating an RSS feed, building a video or constructing an online poll.
