Every small business Web site can benefit from having a blog, especially one that links aggressively out to the greater Web. Blogs can be used to speak directly to -- and with -- customers and are a great help in SEO-ing your site to show up high in search engines.
The challenge is that few small biz owners are natural bloggers -- they're good at their business but writing strong blog posts with lots of external links can be time-consuming.
A new tool from Zemanta can make authoring that blog a lot easier.
The concept is simple but the execution is what sets it apart. Basically, Zemanta's tool is a Firefox plug-in that works with popular blogging tools like Blogger and WordPress. When you start writing a post in those tools, a sidebar pops up that intelligently recommends related pictures, videos and content links. Adding them to the text of your blog post is point-and-click easy.Check out the video of Zemanta in action:

If you're a small business blogger with limited time on your hands, I recommend giving Zemanta a spin. See if it works for you. I'm playing around with it on several blogs. I'll report back on how it goes.
