As a marketing manager, I have to figure out how to allocate limited marketing resources. What to increase and what to cut. Sometimes it is obvious but other times it can be agonizing.
That is why I am happy when something comes along that is either free or costs very little. Email marketing falls into the costs very little camp. It is a good value, though permission-based email marketing is not without its constraints. It is important to identify these constraints clearly, so that small businesses can make the best use of this tool possible.
