| The Perfect Small Business Cell Phone Series Part 2: Palm Centro |
| 10.02.2007 |
There's a couple of problems with most smartphones targeting small business users:
1. They're too expensive.
2. They're too bulky.
3. They're too complex to use without an IT department backing you up.
Palm's new Centro is a good answer to these major problems. The device is for the most part functionally-equal to Palm's Treo smartphone. But it costs less (just $99); it's easily pocketable and is one of the smallest smartphones around; and it sports the Palm OS along with a slew of built-in applications that make it easy to get started with and use.

The Centro's simplicity has been a curse as well as a blessing. Early buzz around the product was overwhelmingly negative as Palm zealots expressed disappointment that the new Palm product wasn't a new high-end machine.
But truth be told, the Centro targets the mainstream, which makes it perfect for small business users and puts its squarely on our list of would-be "perfect small biz cell phones."
