Xobni - "inbox" spelled backwards -- provides tools for making it easier to deal with the onslaught of email to your Outlook inbox.
It's now open and free to download for all users.
I've been using Xobni for many months and I've found it useful, if not as revolutionary as the company -- and some of its users -- make it out to be.
Essentially, it's a Microsoft Outlook sidebar that integrates into the email client and add some very useful features, including:
- A sidebar view of past conversations and attachments on a per-user basis.
- Much improved email search, including the ability to quickly find attachments, contacts and conversations
- A "social network-style" view of your most important contacts
- Email analytics that let you know who you are emailing and what you're talking to them about
- Phone numbers extracted from email and attached to user profiles and easy appointment scheduling
Now that's its open and free to all users, it's worth a look if you spend a lot of time inside Outlook. Watch the embedded video tour below:
