How Will the New President Affect Your Business' Bottom Line?
09.01.2008
Now that all of the candidates are established, we each have a big decision to make in a few months. McCain/Palin or Obama/Biden. But which one will impact your small business most? Are you going to place your vote based on which party will help your business more or hurt it less? Let us know!

Well, what to expect? Two different things though both candidates will be highly scripted for different reasons:

1. Palin will be scripted because, frankly, she does not have much knowledge of public policy. How could she not be scripted or she would not nothing to say beyond trite generalities.

2. Biden will be scripted because, well, he just cannot stop talking and whenever he opens his mouth his foot enters promptly. In no time in history has one man talked so much about so little...

It's good to hear all sides! Now that the economy has been thrust directly into the forefront of the debate, let's see what happens when Palin and Biden duke it out in 2 weeks. What is everybody expecting?

I don't vote on business issues alone, mostly b/c I am an out-of-work journalist with no money (which makes me one of the few people in America not biting his nails right now). Neither candidate fills me with optimism re: his grasp of the economy. But after eight years of awe-inspiring ineptitude out of Bush and Co., it's time for a change.

I suspect that McCain would generally be better for small business. The Republican party is, in theory at least, usually for lower taxes and limited government.

On the other hand, I do not vote on business issues alone so there are things about McCain/Palin that concern me.

Things that affect the country and its standing in the world also affect business success albeit indirectly.

I think one big factor has to do w/ taxes... what will happen to the corporate tax rates? the capital gains tax? That affects how businesses view investments.
