Hi Jane,
I'm new to this forum and I notice that your request is a couple of years old, which surprised me. I hope by now you've found a solution to your query.
I've been doing Internet Marketing for more than decade - since the days when it was first called "internet marketing" and long before Google...
A quick review of this website shows literally hundreds of articles focusing on one aspect of a strategy or another, but none illustrating a long term strategy showing how methods change over time.
The key is to develop a long term strategy, ranging over at least 3 years;
work your plan;
keep your ear to the ground for new methods to improve your strategy;
and finally to be alert to your own changing goals (such as special sales periods -- how your company's services and/or products change over time and how that may affect your overall strategy.
Asking the right questions gets you the right answers.
For example, is your product a one-off, specialty item? If so, your rich content may actually be a hindrance to sales.
[PPC or 'inclusion' may be all that's really needed online.]
Or are you looking for a close business relationship over the long term including products and services?
Where your rich content may have to change constantly to reflect the changing market view of your clients and your own offerings?
[PPC or 'inclusion' may get the ball rolling, but it will soon become part of a larger strategy involving many other methods.]
I'd like to hear how your efforts progressed since you posted your question, if you get a chance.
Paul
