Tema Frank
Web Mystery Shoppers Founder and President
Tema Frank, founder and president of Web Mystery Shoppers Inc. has over three decades’ experience in marketing, communications and business strategy.
Not a techie by nature, she’s been both frustrated and thrilled by the potential of the Internet to make life easier since she started using it in the pre-Web days of the early 1990s. Now she helps clients turn that potential into a reality. Her company’s unique approach to large sample size usability testing has been highly valued by clients such as the Royal Bank of Canada, ING Direct, the Government of Alberta, the Alberta Motor Association, Cruise Ship Centres, etc.
Frank's expertise was noted by the Web Marketing Association, which twice chose her as a judge for the WebAwards Competition, and she was a finalist for the 2004 Alberta E-Business Leadership Award.
She is an active member of many industry and non-profit associations, including the Usability Professionals Association, the Marketing Research & Intelligence Association, the Association of Internet Marketing & Sales (AIMS), InfoTech Alberta, and Canadian Women in Communications. She serves on the Editorial Boards of User Experience and Hotel Business Review and writes about usability, marketing and communications for several publications. She teaches a final-year course on Electronic Marketing in the School of Business at the University of Alberta. Tema Frank has been an invited speaker at Internet and usability conferences in the United States and Canada and has been interviewed by media such as the Wall Street Journal and The Globe & Mail.
