Douglas Burke

Mr. Burke is a DefenseWeb Director and also serves as the company's Chief Executive Officer. In this role, he drives the strategic vision for DefenseWeb and manages all company operations focusing on revenue growth, profitability, and new market development.
Prior to DefenseWeb, Mr. Burke was the co-founder and CEO of a San Diego based consulting company called Prodesis. Prodesis delivers a wide range of business and technology consulting services including product management, business development, sales, marketing, customer service, engineering, quality assurance, venture capital financing, and executive management. Prior to Prodesis, Mr. Burke was a founder, President and Chief Operating Officer of eHNC, the Internet spin-off of HNC Software (NASDAQ: HNCS).
In his tenure, Mr. Burke grew the company to 80 employees and $8M in annual revenue. Prior to eHNC, Mr. Burke served as the VP of Product Management for Globeset, an electronic commerce startup company in Austin. Mr. Burke managed all strategic and tactical product initiatives for Globeset product line. Prior to Globeset, Mr. Burke spent three years at Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC). During this time, Mr. Burke served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Tenth Mountain Systems, a wholly owned subsidiary of SAIC. While at SAIC, Mr. Burke built a $4M per year professional services business in electronic commerce and led the team that helped Visa and MasterCard create the SET security protocol.
Prior to SAIC, Mr. Burke was a research programmer and graduate student at the University of Pittsburgh, where he developed some of the first distributed, 3-tier client-server database applications over the Internet. Prior to the University of Pittsburgh, Mr. Burke worked for Integrated Decision Systems (IDS), a portfolio management software startup company, and was responsible for software release control, quality assurance, development, and customer support. Prior to IDS, Mr. Burke worked for Grow Group, a consumer products company, as a systems and financial analyst.
Mr. Burke holds a BA in Economics from the University of California (1990) and an MS in Telecommunications from the University of Pittsburgh (1994).
