Robert A. Francis
President, Planned Companies
Robert A. Francis joined his family business in 1998, representing the fourth generation of leadership. He works in new business development and client retention, with a client portfolio that includes ADP, CB Richard Ellis, Commerce Bank, GVA Williams, Mack-Cali Corporation, Sotheby’s and Wentworth Management. He transitioned the concierge, doorman, and security business and launched Planned Security Services in January 2004, raising revenue from 3 million to 11 million in 3 years.
Prior to Planned Companies, Mr. Francis spent two years at Andersen Consulting (Accenture) where he worked on a team implementing change management systems and solutions for internal operations in Chicago. In 2005 and in 2008, he was a recipient of “Top 40 Under 40” by NJBiz and Real Estate New Jersey, which recognized business executives with demonstrated leadership and innovation from the state. In 2007, he was also recognized for two different honors, the first was for Real Estate Weekly’s “Residential Rising Stars”. This award recognizes business leaders in the residential sector who have demonstrated a solid track record of leadership and innovation. The second was for “New Jersey’s Top Family Businesses of the Year” by the Rothman Institute of Entrepreneurial Studies at Fairleigh Dickinson University. He is also a noted author and speaker in the community. Mr. Francis has instituted quality control measures and a corporate culture at Planned Companies that has resulted in an industry leading client and employee retention rate.
He obtained his BA from the University of Pennsylvania, and his MBA from The Stern School of Business at New York University. He resides in New Jersey with his wife and two children.
